Despite the spouse’s caste or religion, all marriages solemnised in Delhi are subject to the Compulsory Registration of Marriage Order, 2014. These are the necessary conditions that must be fulfilled in order for a marriage registration or to get a valid marriage certificate.

• Girl must be 18 years of age and boy of 21 years.
• Either of Spouse is a resident of Delhi or has an address proof of Delhi.
• Registration of Marriage under Hindu Marriage Act 1955, both girl and Boy must be either Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh or Jain.
• Neither bride nor groom should have a spouse while applying for the current marriage registration.
• There should be no external force or aggression while marrying and both should give a valid consent.
